From Static to Dynamic Intuition—A Formal Extension of Kahneman’s Dual-Process Theory
I. The Intuitive Oral Introduction:
Kahneman’s Nobel Prize-winning work identified two modes of thinking:
- System 1: Fast, automatic, emotional, heuristic. (Static Intuition)
- System 2: Slow, effortful, logical, analytical.
Yet this model is trapped in the Causal Field. It describes how the isolated brain reacts – not how the connected Self creates.
A third process is missing❣️:
Dynamic Intuition – a fluid, creative flow of insight sourced not from stored experience, but from direct participation in the Quantum Field.

II. The Mathematical Extension at Princeton Level:
We model decision-making as a function in the state space of consciousness. Let S(t) be the cognitive state at time t.
Kahneman’s model:
where S1 is the System 1 state (fast, heuristic) and S2 is the System 2 state (slow, analytical). α, β are weighting factors.
The Extension: We introduce a new state S3(t) – the Dynamic Intuition state – and a coupling parameter γ , measuring "permeability" to the Quantum Field.
The extended state equation:
The Dynamic Intuition state S3(t) obeys a non-local wave equation in the Hilbert space of consciousness:
The left side of the above equation is the Quantum Intuition Hamiltonian, describing non-local interaction with the Quantum Field.
The neural correlates can be measured as synchronization between brain regions: γ α Coherence(PFC, Insula, DMN)
where PFC = prefrontal cortex (ratio), Insula = feeling, DMN = Default Mode Network (connected Self).
III. The Consequence: Intuition becomes a channeled flow, not a stored snapshot
Dynamic Intuition is not reactive (like S1) nor analytical (like S2), but proactive and creative. It emerges when consciousness shifts from ego (isolated in CF) to Self (connected in QF).
Kahneman’s model is not wrong – it is incomplete. It describes decision-making of an isolated brain. We extend it to decision-making of a connected consciousness.
IV. The Princeton Kōan:
"When the brain is silent and the heart speaks – who is listening❓"
The answer is S3 – the state of grace where we do not decide, but let the decision flow through us. This is the Zen point of perfect presence, which Kahneman’s theory does not capture, but which we now make mathematically tangible.
